Overview
The Designer (Confirmed) is responsible for creating detailed drawing packages and models. Must be able to work independently and be capable of delegating work to other design team members. Responsible for drawing quality, accuracy, schedule and budget.
Duties
- Site condition verification
- Machine room layouts
- Pipe and duct plans
- Pipe stand design
- Overall drawing package layout
- 3D model including necessary data
Delegation of tasks
- 2D CAD
- Be able to work with others while 3D modeling
- Document control
Standardization
- Comply with documented company standards
- Maintain consistency across deliverables
- Participate in the development and maintenance of CAD design deliverables and tools
- Maintain awareness of software updates and update CAD systems appropriately
- Maintain awareness of codes and updates
Accountability
- Design project quality
- Design project budget
- Design project schedule
- Compliance with Clauger, customer and code standards
Responsibility
- Return submittals per schedule
- Respond to RFIs in timely fashion
Coordination
- Maintain project schedule and provide updates to project team or customer
- Participate in project meetings as required
- Coordinate with all trades to eliminate clashes
Goals
- Exceed 95% accuracy on design deliverables
- Exceed 95% on time deliverables
- Exceed 95% completion and accuracy of tags/labels/text
- Maintain budgeted design hours
Work Environment
This possition is office based. Site visits to active job sites and manufacturing facilities will be required. Must comply with Clauger, OSHA, and site safety rules and PPE requirements. 20% of travel is required for this position.
Required Education, Experience, and/or Licenses
- Preferred Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial refrigeration
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Autodesk Plant 3D or equivalent
