Job Summary

Clauger USA is a family-owned, newly funded, company which excels in providing industrial refrigeration and air treatment solutions that are customized to fit your needs. The General Accountant will prepare month end closings independently and prepare financial reports to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. The General Accountant must have an entrepreneurial spirit that can organize the finances and take back tasks that had been outsourced (payroll postings, bank/credit card reconciliation) and can also be the backup for the office manager.

Job Duties

  • Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Maintains the general ledger.
  • Codes invoices, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books within given timeframe.
  • Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
  • Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • Reviews the internal controls and security of all automated accounting applications to ensure conformity with auditing standards.
  • Resolves issues and problems related to system platforms.
  • Assists with project cost accounting.
  • Reconciliation between accounting and service software.
  • Assists in customer invoicing.
  • Backup to the Office Manager as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Education, Certification/Licenses

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

Experience

  • 5 years of professional experience.
  • Experience in construction/service-related industry a plus.
  • Experience with QuickBooks and Simpro a plus.

Knowledge (e.g. skills; abilities; familiarity w/ tools, languages, software programs)

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
